Who we are

The E Minor Pop Academy was formed in 1998 by the long established Southern School of Popular Singing. They have been teaching Vocal, Choreography and Performance training to boys and girls for the last ten years.

The Academy are renowned for working with large groups of children with various degrees of talent. Our aim is to develop each individuals skills, whilst injecting some fantastic fun and confidence-building at the same time.

We firmly believe that singing is an important part of a child's overall Well-being. We are proud to have seen so many members develop both artistically and confidently over the months and indeed years of their association with the Academy.

The E Minor Pop Academy concentrate their efforts on teaching lead and harmony vocals, as well as specially created choreography, for a range of brand new and classic pop songs. Members of the Academy will learn songs in a group environment, focusing on harmony techniques. They will be encouraged to audition for solo vocal parts, but only if they are confident enough to do so.

At least three concerts a year are performed by every Pop Academy, which are set to an extremely high standard. The shows are assisted by a full professional sound system, radio microphones and lighting equipment. The live performances enable members to show family and friends the skills they have learned throughout the year. It also provides them with an opportunity to sing and perform in front of large audiences, in a live environment and in a great venue.
